

HONORS
Las Vegas High School's Dance program is devoted to increasing interest in dance across our campus and bringing a sense of community and energy to our campus. As our program continues to grow and evolve we want to honor the Dancers who have contributed to its growth throughout their high school career. We seek to recognize and celebrate students who demonstrate excellence in dance performance, artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement.
​LVHS Dance Honor Students will receive a Silver Cord for Graduations

Four year LVHS Dancers

Dance Team/Company Member
-
Contributed to Dance Events every year of their high school career

Represented the department as an Ambassador/Volunteer/ Concert Crew Member
-
Proof of at least 7 community services hours or more per year.

No fines, referrals, suspensions, or expulsions for any reason.

3.0 GPA or Higher
LVHS Dancers who contribute to the Dance Program in all of the capacities listed below for more than 2 years will receive a Black Cord for Graduation

Dance Team/Company Member

Enrolled in Dance Courses at LVHS (Dance 1, Dance 2, and/or Advanced Techniques)​ for at least three years.

Participated in Dance Concerts for three years or more (Never missed for any reason)

Contributed to Dance Community Service Event

No fines, referrals, suspensions, or expulsions for any reason.

3.0 GPA or Higher
Students must have 10 community service hours each year, maintain a 3.0 or above GPA with proof, and exemplify what it means to be a Dance Honors Student.

Yearly Class points are as follows:
25 for Dance 1
50 for Dance 2
75 for Advanced Techniques
100 for Elements.

5 points per Dance Piece (Finales and Bows may not be applied)

Community Service
1 point per hour served
​
Outside of School Performances
25 points per event
​
Parades/Games
20 points each
